Kids around the country join playtime celebration

Young people from around the county participated in a celebration of games for children. Town Hall Square, Leicester, has been transformed into a playground where children jump, trampoline and plastic ducks fishing source.

The annual event remembers the UN Convention of children's right to play.

Rebecca Hiorns, 36, of Ashby Parva, said: "My daughter Sam enjoy a lot and I think it's a good idea to market.

"It focuses on children and is active and that people like me who live outside of Leicester in the heart of the city."

The volunteers helped to ensure the day passed without trouble getting young people who play games and giant crosses and zeros.

Bowling, dance the limbo, the art of floor boards and also keep the children happy.

Organiser Ray Tunks said: "The event was organized to celebrate the children's reading time."

It is estimated that up to 2,000 people attended.

There were celebrations in other parts of the city and county.

De Montfort University students were involved in helping young people make and play instruments of mu-sic in the West End Community Centre, Leicester.

Youth Jubilee Park, Loughborough, participated in a number of sports, as well as face painting and a bouncy castle.

In Desford, bookworms learned trades and heard stories at the library on Main Street.

At Market Harborough, a beach was created on the spot for a day at sea
